For this month’s WOW, we are going to experiment with a weeknight evening time. Weekends are very busy for gardeners! We will meet at Battle Creek Regional Park in St. Paul. Battle Creek Regional Park consists of 1,840 acres of natural area located just outside a highly developed urban environment. Extensive areas of woods, wetlands, and grassland attract many species of wildlife. Trails offer visitors the opportunity to see many species of wildlife including deer, fox, herons, egrets and hawks, along with the beauty of the natural plant communities. The trail is paved so this walk is accessible to every hiking level.
We are meeting at the westernmost parking lot. Directions from St. Paul or Minneapolis:
- Take 94 East,
- Exit on Hwy 61 South
- Go left on Lower Afton Rd
- Take the first left on Point Douglas Road (a frontage road to 61)
- The parking lot is about a half mile down
