Native Plant Seed Collecting

Find out how and when to collect native plant seeds. Learn what is meant by ‘ripe’ seed head and what are some protocols for collecting native plant seeds in the wild during this demonstration event at Snail Lake Regional Park on September 23 at 5 – 6:30 pm. Led by Pam Larson Frink, Wild Ones Big River Big Woods member, the White Bear Lake Seed Librarian and horticulturist.

We will meet at Snail Lake Regional Park in Shoreview beach parking lot, next to the boat launch, down by Snail Lake. This address of the boat launch is 4203 Snail Lake Boulevard, Shoreview.  Please park at the beach area parking lot, not at the boat launch.  We will meet on the south side of the beach building. Together we will cross to the other side of the street and go north (left) on the sidewalk until we get to the trailhead.

Map to meeting spot.

There is a limit of 25 participants for this event.

In case of bad weather on the 23rd, we’ll meet on Saturday, the 25th.
