Weaving together edible and native plant landscaping promotes sustainable gardening and water efficiency while supporting wildlife and reducing use of chemicals. It connects you to your food and your gardens in unique ways.
Pete Widin will discuss selecting the right edible and native plantings for your property and techniques to create low maintenance, productive gardens for your lifestyle, providing food for you and for wildlife.
Speaker: Pete Widin, MLA, ASLA, is a St Croix Oak Savanna Wild Ones member and founder of Artisan Environments, LLC. Pete designs native and edible landscapes for residences, farms and ecotourist sites. His designs weave aesthetics, sustainability, soil-building, and stormwater management with food production for humans and wildlife. He is certified in permaculture design through the Permaculture Research Institute.
